NEW ALBANY, IN - The Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce (SICC)
and Win.Net Internet have taken another step forward in providing
affordable access to Broadband Internet service for businesses in
Southern Indiana. The initiative is called getNET:

The initiative has
two key components:
1. Broadband access for $199/month.
Win.Net will offer SICC members a new product developed specifically
to address the issue of affordable access in Southern Indiana. The
product is called Extended Reach DSL-T1 Broadband. This
service makes use of highly reliable T1 technology to deliver DSL
performance to any customer in Clark or Floyd counties. DSL
service has been available in Southern Indiana for over two years
but is very limited in service area – 20-25% of total area. This
Win.Net DSL-T1 service covers 100% of the Clark and Floyd county
service area.
2.
Seminars. In a monthly
seminar series Win.Net and SICC will offer seminars on a variety of
Internet topics intended to help Indiana businesses take advantage
of the Internet in their business. This seminar series will start
with a seminar entitled Networking Essentials that will help
companies that are considering hooking up their business to the
Internet using the getNET DSL-T1 or similar broadband
services such as DSL or Wireless.
Michael Tague, President of Win.Net
Internet: “For three years I have participated in the SICC
Technology Council looking at the issue of affordable broadband
access for Southern Indiana. It has often been quite frustrating.
The need is there, but the solution has been elusive. Finally, the
pieces came together to solve this problem. The pricing structure
for getNET will be the lowest in the Kentuckiana
region.”
Greg Fitzloff,
President of the Southern Indiana Chamber of Commerce: “Successful
economic development requires that we deliver infrastructure to our
existing businesses and to new businesses considering our area. For
too long, availability of broadband Internet access has been a mark
against us. With the getNET Initiative, we have taken
another step forward in solving our technology issues.”
